Area Highlights

The Location

Our event is held at Hungry Mother State Park in beautiful Marion, VA. Marion is known as the home of Mountain Dew and for having Nolan Ryan signed with our minor league team in the Appalachian League called the Marion Mets.

Area Attractions

The Lincoln Theater, a meticulously renovated Art-Deco Mayan Revival style performing arts center in Marion, is the home of the nationally syndicated bluegrass music program ”Song of the Mountains”. The General Francis Marion Hotel serves the town as a AAA Three-Diamond hotel.

Local Adventure

Our area hosts the unmatched beauty and riding enjoyment provided by VA Route 16, the two lane ribbon over the three mountains between Tazewell and Marion often called “The Back of the Dragon“. The park also offers many hiking, biking and running trails, kayaking, boating, and paddle boats.

Camping and Cabins

This mountain woodland park comprises a 108-acre lake for boating & fishing, plus camping & cabins. Hungry Mother State Park is truly some of the best views in the area. You can find more information at the parks site: here.
